On floodplain along the Savannah River; alluvial
forest; at base of steep, north-facing slope. Site
#12 (Lat. 34°03130"; Long. 82*37'12"), ca. 1.5 miles
south of the S. C. 72 bridge over the Savannah River.
Below the 475-ft. contour (full pool for proposed
Russell Lake). Area to be impounded in the mid-
1980fs by the U. S. Army.Corps of Engineers.
