Habitat
South slope; in open or partly shaded by Artemisia tridentata. Leptodactylon pungens, Phlox gracilis. Pinyon belt. Near yellow penstemon. Gravelly clay.

Description
Perennial from a woody root. 1-1.5 feet high. 1-20 upright stems (average about 5). Many flowers open at one time. Corolla lobes blue or shaded with rosy lavendar; tube much lighter. Showy. [Annotated in pencil on the specimen sheet: "staminode bearded at tip, anthers sacs glabrous."]. Phenology of specimen: Fertile, Flower.
