Habitat
On steep rocky talus slopes below cliffs. With gambel oak-mountain mahogany association. Locally abundant. Gray-white soil, pH ca. 7.7.

Description
Corollas pale red-violet, tube base darker so, throat with 2 weak, white ridges within abaxially; staminode white; anthers black; nectar with a sweet fragrance. Phenology of specimen: Fertile, Flower.
