On Washingtonia nuda (Torr.) Heller. (Osmorrhiza nuda Torr.)
“Aecidium Osmorrhizae n. sp. Spots yellowish, frequently on
the midveins; peridia hypogynous, clustered or seriated along the
veins, slightly elevated, with the margin subentire, incurved; spores
subglobose, yellow, becoming pale, 1-1000 in. in diameter; spermo*
gonia central, on the same side.” Chas. H. Peck, Annual Report N.
Y. State Museum, 24, page 92: 1871.
The combination Puccinia Osmorrhiza’e C. & Pk. was first used,
without description, in Peck’s Twenty-Ninth Report, p. 73: 1878.
