Habitat
Gravelly soil of light woods.

Description
A slender erect undershrub; stem 1 inch thick, crocked, 10 ft high, terete; branches few, from above the middle, slender, recurved mostly; wood tough, odorless and tasteless, white with reddish streaks; bark nearly castaneous, very minutely checked and minutely lenticelled, the middle zone yellowish, castaceous on the inside; leaves alternatingly scattered, divaricate and horizontally spreading; rachis terete, green, the tipole much thickened at the base; leaflets subchartaceous, horizontal, flat, duller green above; inflorescence erect, in groups along the branchlets, stalks green, fulvously covered, calyx nearly flavovireus, petals white with a tinge of red, filaments similar in color, anthers citrinous, style greenish white with a dark green stigma; flowers odorless. Phenology of specimen: Sterile.
