Ercct annual; leaves purple below, glandular pubescent;
calyx somewhat plicate, reddish on folds; corolla with
throat reddish-purple, lips lavender with two yellow lines
on ridges; on open, logged-over slope; growing with M.
bicolor (Carter 3198), but in distinct patches rather than
mixed.
Above South Grove, Calaveras Big Trees between Beaver
Creek and Griswold Creek, Tuolumne County.
Altitude ca. 5500 feet.
