  • Description

    Palm tree, height 25m, dbh 25cm. Aerial roots, orange 18mm diameter, protrude from ground level to 50cm up trunk, root cap brown. Bark is brown with distinctive scent. Sap is very viscous (jelly like) and slimy, only seen couple of hours after cutting. Fruits resemble green kidney beans. Fruit stalks are 1m in length and have a spread of 65cm at greatest. Young fruit stalks are enclosed in an envelope which lies vertically upwards. Envelope is 90cm long and 18cm wide. Point of insertion of fruit stalk on trunk is 180cm below first point of insertion of leaves. Leaf is 5m long in length. Leaflets are 90cm long and 65cm wide at greatest.
