species name of which I am unable to determine• If it so
pleases you* you may retain the specimen enclosed as I
have several* But I should like to have your Garden deter
mine the species of this plant.
Enclosed also find a check list of the plants
which constitute the herbarium of this school* There are
now some eight hundred specimens which are truly local to
the northern Black Hills*
