No. 8294, collected May 21, in the Sierra foothills in the
first canyon south erf Bishop, Inyo county, growing at an eleva-
tion of about 5000 feet on precipitous slopes in coarse granite
sand. The determination is by no means positive, but our plant
is near this species. The specimens seem to be of the season’s
growth, but otherwise agree fairly well with the illustration of
the type, which was collected “between Mineral King and Fare-
well Gap, Sierra Nevada, Tulare County, California.”
