Mule Canyon, where dirt road "263" crosses through canyon, within 2 miles of hwy 95, "Texas Flat", in vicinity of 37d 32' 30 . 5" N lat, 109d 44' 26.1" W long, 1890 meters. Red sandy shaly soil, with Populus, Rhamnus betulaefolia var obovata, Shepherdia, Pinus edulis, Amelanchier, Ephedra, Opuntia, Arctostaphylos, Stanleya, Asclepias, Penstemon, Salix exigua.
