    Trees 10 - 15 m tall, with trunk up to 3-4 dm thick. Leaves glossy deep green above, pale beneath. Catkins now all fallen, the female ones ca. 1.5 dm long, slender, with subsessile, 3-carpellate capsules. Phenology of specimen: Sterile.
