Mona Island, collected by Britton, Cowles and Hess, Feb. 1914.
Two other specimens were also sent to me by Dr. Britton from the
Bronx Herbarium, one from the Bahamas, No. 8246, one from Cuba,
No. 2171, collected in 1860-1864,
On Drypetes sps.
Rio Tanama, July 6, ’15, 7885.
This specimen shows an unusually rough, irregular mycelium and
| capitate hyphopodia.
If we accept for M. glabra thè description given by Gaillard and] < co
as belonging to it the specimen distributed by Rabenhorst and Winter z ®
as No. 3849, Fungi Europaei (See Fig. 4) on Barbacenia purpurea we ¡5; ^
must think of this as a form with a dense, closely matted mycelium with! *i cvj
I mycelial threads coursing more or less parallel. This is typically the!
condition of the Meliola on Hypelate.
