around shallow depressional area within gamagrass prairie,
on soils mapped as deep, somewhat poorly drained, mildly
alkaline clay Vertisols (Kaufman Series), on upper edge of
floodplain of Cowleech Fork of Sabine River, in SW comer of
Cowleech Prairie Preserve, ca. 100 ft. NNE of gate on N side
of Co. Rd. 3128 at a point 1.0 roadmiles E of its jet. with US
Rt. 69 S of Greenville, at N33°04'07.2”, W096°00’35.0”.
Greenville SE Quadrangle. Elev. 460 ft.
Associates included Aster subulatus, Cardiospermum halicacabum, Carex
crus-corvi, Cephalanthus occidentalis, Iva annua, Persicaria
hydropiperoides, Xanthium strumarium.
