Mt. Hamilton, in the Coast Ranges of Santa Clara County,
Upper Sonoran Zone, at an altitude of 1280 m.
Growing among granitic rocks in clay on the northerly slope
of Copernicus Peak. Perianth-segments very obtuse, dull white
or rose-pink, usually dull white and with a mid-vein of green or
crimson; all color-forms may occur on a single plant, but individual
plants have a tendency towards one color. Stamens 8 or 9; fila-
ments all hirsute at base; anthers rose-pink. Ovaries white or
rose-pink.
