on road to Santo Domingo. Elev. 1970m. Shrub on roadcut.
Floral bracts green; hypanthium and calyx creamy-white at
anthesis, later green and red, respectively; petals white;
filaments white, appendages white, anthers yellow, the
stamens in a slightly curving crescent above the style; style
pink basally, white distaly, the stigma capitate. Flowers
emitting a faint, sweet fragrance at 0900h. Rare.
