"Abrigo de Rebousas”, along road.
(The planalto is a steep hilly terrain, many hills topped with large
outcrops of sienite quartz. Hillsides with frequent rounded
outcropping quartz rocks & boulders, and a shallow, black,
almost pure humus soil supporting a periodically-burned natural
tussock sedge^grassland with scattered low Chusquea bamboo &
occasionally other shrubs. Valley sides often with dense
Chusquea brakes and brooks lined with a marsh of Cladium in
tussocks or the tussock raised on a "trunk"of massed rhizomes.)
This n°: 1/2 m from brook edge, in moist fine
sand which is black with humus. Plant forms a
continuous turf.
