ASTERACEAE Rudbeckia hirta L.
Erect herb. Rays horizontal, orange-yellow, lighter
at the tips.
Common on W-facing slope at edge of woods of Acer
rubrum, Quercus, Populus tremuloides and cultivated
field. Ungrazed, only in open or partial shade, with
Daucus carota, Monarda fistulosa, Erigeron annuus, Pyrus
ioensis, Rhus glabra, Amphicarpa bracteata, Veronicastrum
virginicum.
WISCONSIN: Richland Co., 3 miles SE of Richland Center.
