Bolivia. Santa Cruz. Andrés Ibáñez Prov. Along Brecha 5, 1 km E of highway from Santa Cruz to Abapó (at "km 38"), the turnoff 29 km S of junction with highway from Santa Cruz to Samaipata.

Habitat
Somewhat rolling, probably old dune fields. Soil sandy. Somewhat disturbed remnant of tall chaco forest with Phyllostylon rhamnoides, Pterogyne nitens. Common in understory, often forming dense stands and making walking very tedious and dangerous.

Description
Terrestrial. Bracts of fruit slightly pinkish; fruit juicy, fairly sweet.
