patch of fairly old growth hackberry - palm woodland on
soils mapped as deep, well drained, calcareous, moderately
alkaline silt loam Typic Ustifluvents (Rio Grande series), in
bottom of old resaca blocked off from rest of resaca by a
man-made levee, low spot on otherwise flat agricultural
landscape, E side of levee on E side of resaca behind
Southmost Preserve manager’s house, 0.2-0.3 mi SSE of
.warehouse, ca. 1.2-1.3 airmiles SE to SSE of jet. F. M. 1419
(Southmost Road) and F. M. 3068 (Indiana Ave.), at
1 N25°5r06.3”, W097°23’46.8”. Southmost Quadrangle.
