KLEBERG CO.: local on deep well drained fine sand on low
convex sand ridge surrounded on three sides by wetlands,
just W (landward) of foredune ridge along barrier island
beach, northern part of Padre Island, ca. 1.4 airmiles S of
Bob Hall Pier, at N27°33’49.0”, W097°13’51.2”. Crane
Islands SW Quadrangle. Elev. 5-25 ft.
Vegetation dominated by Schizachyrium scoparium and Heterotheca
subaxillaris. Other associates included Cenchrus spinifex, Chamaecrista
fasciculata, Commelina erecta, Croton capitatus, C. coryi, Cyperas sp.
(“C. cylindricus”), Fimbdstylis sp., Galactia canescens, Helianthus
argophyllus, Panicum amarum, Paspalum monostachyum.
