SAN BERNARDINO CO.: In sandy soil in a broad, very
shallow dry wash in Larrea desert about 2k miles north-
west of Needles, Calif* and 28 miles south of Search-
light, Nev. Elevation about 1900 feet. Twp. UN.,
R. 20 E.
Openly branched spiny shrubs up to about 6 dm. tall.
Branches blue-gray. Lower lip of the corolla rich blue,
purple, the gales dull greenish lavender, with whitish
margins.
