    Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Georeferenced to the approximate geographic center of the Lagoa do Macuco, within the Reserva Florestal da Sooretama, Espírito Santo. Using Google Maps - Satellite View, and referencing an image of the boundaries of the reserve found online (http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2tuD76V4Vgg/UE8yk6xDTZI/AAAAAAAAIYo/dwwfszGJl5M/s1600/Map.jpg) located the Reserva Florestal da Sooretama. Although no reference provided an exact position on a map for the Lagoa do Macuco, its approximate location was inferred to be near the convergence of the Rio Barra Seca and the Corrego Cupido, according to descriptions of the Lagoa do Macuco provided in an official website for the Sooretama reserve (http://www.icmbio.gov.br/rebiosooretama/aspectos-fisicos-e-biologicos.html). Using Google Maps - What's Here tool, found coordinates (final) for the approximate geographic center of the shallow eutrophic lake formed at the convergence of the Barra Seca and Cupido rivers (presumed to be the Lagoa do Macuco). Because the boundaries of this lagoon are clearly defined visually, used Google Maps - Measure Distance tool to determined linear extent by measuring from the selected coordinates near the center of the lagoon to the farthest extent of the lagoon (-19.036185, -39.955124). Input linear extent (1325.0 m), coordinate precision (0.00001 degrees), datum (WGS84), and measurement error (0.5 m) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius (according to Georeferencing Best Practices Guide, Named Place: Defined area).
