Mescal Creek USGS 7.51 Quadrangle; T4N R8W, SE/4 NW/4 NE/4 and NE/4 SW/4 NE/4 section 12. Elevation ca 3880-3950 feet. Gradual NNE slope on alluvial fan emanating from Le Montaine Creek (San Gabriel Mtns); vegetation dominated locally by Larrea tridentata, Yucca brevifolia, Juniperus californica, Eriogonumfasciculatum polifolium, Salvia dorrii pilosa, etc. Locally uncommon annual with pale canary-yellow ligules.
