Datum). Elev. 10080 ft.
In rocky (metamorphic) soil on NW-facing slope with Artemisia.
Arenaria & Pinus. Caespitose perennials; leaves mostly basal,
with a pungent, mucronate tip, densely scaberulous, not shiny-
resinous; flowering stems & involucres glandular; phyllaries acute,
uniform in thickness, green except for the margins, the midvein not
prominent; ray florets present, pistillate, the ligules yellow.
