In gravelly soil on gentle S-facing slope with Artemisia. Ericameria
& Phlox. Perennials from branched caudices; leaves mostly basal,
minutely glandular-scabrous, obscurely shiny-resinous, with a +
pungent, mucronate tip; stems & involucres very sparsely
glandular, resinous; phyllaries acute, uniform in thickness, green
mostly on distal half near midvein; ligules of ray florets yellow.
