On old dead limbs of oak, maple, &c.
(This is the Hysterium flexuosum of Rav. Fungi Car.,
and Thumen’s Mycotheca, but is identical with speci-
mens in herb. Schw., labeled as above. According to Mr.
W. G. Stevenson, Jr.,who has examined the specimen in
herb. Schw. at the Acad. Nat. Sci., Phila., the sporidia
of H. flexuosum are ovate, brownish, septate, .00157 by
.0005/; those of H. vulvatum »re strongly constricted
in the middle, and .002/ by .00075'.)
