In shaly soil on gentle, E-facing slope with Pinus. Juniperus &
Artemisia. Plants caespitose perennials; leaves strigose, to 2.5
mm wide; stems to 20 mm long, densely white canescent;
involucral bracts to 2.5 mm wide; ray pappus to 3.5 mm long; disc
pappus to 6 mm long; ligules of ray florets whitish above, pinkish
below; disc corollas to 5 mm long; meiosis highly irregular, the
pollen malformed; cypselae with glochidiate hairs.
