NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN
In rocky (marly limestone) soil on S-facing slope with Artemisia.
Phlox & Ericameria. Perennial with caudex branches clothed in
old leaf bases; leaves punctate; scapes often densely lanate with
trichomes to 7 mm; inner involucral bracts broadly oblanceolate,
the scarious margins wider than the herbaceous center; ligules of
ray florets yellow; pappus of obovate, acuminate scales.
