In rocky (sandstone) soil derived from the Mancos FofW»i®n dp
SW-faeing slope with Pinus, Juniperus, Ericameria & Atriplex.
Plants perennial from mostly branched caudices; leaves obscurely
punctate, to 5 mm wide, ascending pilose, the hairs of the scapes
more divergent, to 3 mm long; inner involucral bracts oblong with
narrow scarious margins; ligules of ray florets yellow; pappus of
ovate-lanceolate scales tapered to a poorly-defined awn.
