Chaparral/oak woodland transition with Quercus chrysolepis, Q.
agrifolia, Q. wislizeni, Arctostaphylos glandulosa, Rhamnus
tomentella, Ceanothus oliganthus, Eriodictyon crassifolius, etc.
Granitic substrate with sandy loam soil; NE aspect; slope 60%.
Locally common on fire breaks and disturbed oak woodland
understory, 2’-3’ tall.
