Habitat
Severely burned mixed conifer (Pinus virginiana, P. taeda) and hardwood (Acer rubrum, Quercus alba, Liriodendron, Liquidambar, Ostrya) forest with absolutely nothing alive in the understory. Corticolous on fallen branch.
