The New York Botanical Garden Plants of CANADA U ( V Grindella squarrosa (Pursh) Dunal var. quasiperennis Lune11 Alberta: along Trans-Canada hwy 1 headed W towards Calgary, 16.0 mi E of jet TC-1 & Alberta hwy 242-secondary, 32.3 mi W of jet TC-1 & Alberta hwy 36. plants growing along hwy and field access road. Also growing adjacent to wheat field in gravelly, clay soil. Very parched area. 1.0-1.5 ft. tall. Most with a single stem, others with multiple stems from the base.
