The New York Botanical Garden Plants of NEW MEXICO Grindelia aphanactis Rydb. NM: Catron Co. Along NM 12, 21.9 mi NE of jet NM 12 and US 180, 3.9 mi NE of jet with NM 32 at Apache Creek. Only 2-3 plants seen growing in rocky soil along hwy shoulder. Individual plants forming a clump 2.0-2.5 ft. in diam. Heads very sticky. On some plants disc flowers well extended. Elev. 6600 ft.
