Top of first incline N of jct I 25 and US 87, this N of Raton. Plants common but scattered in sandy, loose soil in open areas, not found under the pines. 1.2-2.5 ft. tall. Some individuals forming small clumps with multiple stems arising from a woody taproot. Perennials, flowering plants forming new rosettes. Growing intermixed with Wetter 511 (G. aphanactis).
