dominant trees; Xyridaceae, Eriocaulaceae, Melastomataceae in
understory. Shrub common in savanna. Leaves dark green above and
light green below. Inflorescence/infructescence terminal raceme. Calyx
green. Corolla red basally, yellow apically. Fruit 2-parted, green-red,
joined at top and bottom. Silica sample.
