RANCHO SANTA ANA BOTANIC GARDEN Flora of the San Gabriel Mountains Los Angeles County, California, U.S.A. Asteraceae Eriophyllum confertiflorum (DC.) A.Gray ssp. confertiflorum UPPER BIG TUJUNGA CANYON: Ridge and slopes descending ± ENE from THORN (Triangulation Point 5499-ft) toward Big Tujunga Creek (about 0.6-1.6 air- miles ENE of Barley Flats). Chilao Flat USGS 7.5' quad T2N R11W, SW/4 SW/4 east to SE/4 SE/4 sect 5; elevation ca 4100-5100 feet. Upper ridgetop an old firebreak; remaining slopes vested in fairly dense chaparral with Quercus chrysolepis woodland occurring in patches in the more mesic lateral draws.
