ETHIOPIA, HARERGE, Chercher highlands, 70km from
College of agriculture at Alemaya on road to Asbe Tefari, 3km
out of Chelenko. Overgrazed mountain slopes,
c. 9°24' N, 41°34' E Alt: 2100m
Parasitic shrub. Stem grey brown, twigs paler brown. Leaves
succulent, glossy, dark green.
Calyx dark green. Corolla dark green at base, orange in centre,
slips pale green. All parts of outside of corolla with many white
hairs. Filaments brown, anthers yellow. Style and stigma pale
green.
Host plant also in same sample.
A small part of the material proved to be another species and
was segregated to 1603a. The host plant is stored as 1603b.
