Moist, rich, muddy soil.
Other spp: Muhlenbergia rigens, some Salix, lots of Juncus. Surrounded by Quercus
emoryi, Q. grisea, Prosopis, Mimosa, Arctostaphylos.
Abundant near spring. Perennial. Rhizomatous (?). Inflor opea Could be C. esculentus,
or C. spectabilis, or C. rotundus
