Forêt humide. Argiles et rochers.
Petit arbre de 3-7 m, à écorce brune tachée de blanc
(lichens). Feuilles vert foncé dessus, vert clair dessous, avec
une légère décoloration vert clair, le long de la nervure
primaire. Fruits à 1-2-3 loges vert glauque foncé, jaune puis
blanc translucide, en forme de coeur, très charnu. Pyrène
marron..
