Liebre Mountains region, Atmore Meadows area at the southeastern
end of Liebre Mountain in a tributary drainage to the North Fork
Fish Canyon. Near 34° 41’ 34.9”N 118° 36’ 15.8”W. T7N
R16W W 1/2 SW 1/4 SW 1/4 sec. 17. Elev. ca 4320 ft.
Relatively flat area surrounded by steep sided ridges and traversed by
two active drainages.
Chaparral of Adenostoma fasciculatum, Arctostaphylos glandulosa,
and Quercus berberidifolia on surrounding slopes, riparian areas
with woodland of Quercus chrysolepis, Q. wislizeni, and Salix
lasiolepis. Open flats with dense stands of Pteridium aquilinum
and scattered stands of Calocedrus decurrens, these presumably
planted.
