Along the rim of the lake in sandy soil Hesperopeuce Mer-
tensiana occurs almost *xdusively, there being a few trees of Pinus
albicaulN on the crest of the rim. There are practicallv no un-
dershmlw. except infrequent clumps of elder nnd prostrate mats
of Ribes erythrocarpum.
