  Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Assumed the road mentioned in the locality description to be Porto Velho-Cuiabá road, in accordance with other locality descriptions. Georeferenced to 15 km east of 117 km along Porto Velho-Cuiabá road in Rondônia, Brazil. Using Google Maps - Satellite View, located the road which connects the cities of Porto Velho, Rondônia with Cuiabá, Mato Grosso, BR-364. Beginning at the location where BR-364 comes closest to the approximate geographic center of the city of Porto Velho, at the intersection of BR-364, BR-319, Av. Rio de Janeiro, and Av. Nações Unidas, used the Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) to measure approximately 117 km (117.000 km) along the road toward Cuiabá. Used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to find the coordinates of the offset along the road. Used the Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) again to find the linear extent of the starting location, the city of Porto Velho, by measuring from the selected coordinates to the farthest extent of the city. To find the 15 km east offset from this point, input coordinates (-9.2532558, -63.1634635), linear extent (8.30467 km), offset direction (E), offset distance (15 km), measurement error (0.0005 km), and distance precision (1 km) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius (according to Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Offset: Offset along a path and Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Offset: Offset at a heading).
