KAUAI: Upper Umahuli Valley. On ridge separating Hanakapiai and Limahuli
valleys. Native, low-canopied cloud forest. Collected along proposed
fenceline. Emerging from Dicranopteris ground cover with Syzygium
sandwicencis, Psychotria mariniana, Cheirodendron feurei, Coprosma, also
with Andropogon virginicus, Mariscus sp.
Small tree, 2 m tall. Fruit dark red when ripe. Seed accessioned with NTBG
Living Collections (acc#090049).
