    Relatively open, sparsely vegetated patches in area otherwise dominated by sagebrush-steppe. With Purshia tridentata, Artemisia arbuscula, Poa secunda, Eriogonum caespitosum, E. microthecum. Fairly common. Fine to stony soil; appearing to be sandstone parent material.
