On Enteromorpha, Magnolia, Massachusetts, Sept. 1903. W. G. PARLOW. This species has been distributed as No. 1007 of this series, but the material was scanty. Mr. Holden’s description never haying been published, is now given with the more satisfactory material contributed by Dr. Farlow. LYNGBYA (LEIBLEINIA) SUBTILIS n. sp. Filaments attached by the middle to other algae; free ends cylindrical or somewhat tapering; trichomes pale green, some- what torulose, .003 .0045 mm. diam., articulations 1-3 to 1, usually 1-2 diam. long; terminal cell rounded, sheath thin, dell°Attached to various marine algae, Bridgeport, Connecticut; and along the coast to Maine. The filaments vary considerably in size: the general habit is not unlike some of the smaller species of Plectonema, but no branchl^^^ observed. Phyootheca Boreali-Amerloana.
