Solitary understoiy palm. Stem 1.4 m high, 0.6 cm thick;
intemodes 1-3 cm long, smooth, brown. Base of stem with
few visible roots. Leaves 10; sheath 7 cm long, open; petiole
10 cm long, section round; rachis 21 cm long; lamina entire,
27 cm long, 9 cm wide, flat, glabrous. Infructescence
interfoliar; prophyll 3 cm long; peduncular bract 2.7 cm long,
inserted 0.2 cm from base, cream to red, herbaceous; peduncle
8 cm long, 0.2 cm wide, red; rachis 2 cm long, 0.2 cm wide-
rachillae 4, 7.5-8.5 cm long, red. Fruits green, 0.6 cm long,
0.6 cm wide. Silicagel sample taken. Transect: HB 760,
subunit no. 18, outside transect
