Solitary understory palm. Stem 0.5 m high, 6 cm thick;
intemodes 1 cm long, brown, rough. Visible roots 20, 10-20
cm long, 0.6 cm thick. Leaves 8; sheath 30 cm long, open;
petiole 90 cm long, section margined; rachis 145 cm long;
lamina pinnate, 160 cm long, 90 cm wide, flat, glabrous;
pinnae 30 per side, insertion regular; basal pinna 42 cm long,
middle pinna 50 cm long, apical pinna 18 cm long.
Infructescence interfoliar; prophyll 19 cm long, 2.8 cm wide,
brown, herbaceous; peduncular bract inserted 5 cm from base,
missing; peduncle 45 cm long, 0.8 cm wide; rachis 22 cm
long, 0.7 cm wide; rachillae 12, 30-33 cm long. Fruits green,
immature, 0.8 cm long, 0.8 cm wide. Silicagel sample taken.
