Prov. Tungurahua: 19.5km from Puyo on road to Baños.
Elev. 1150m. Tree, 5m. Stems quadrate. Peduncles
quadrangular; floral bracts green, enclosing buds
completely and fluid-filled; petals translucent lavender with
slightly darker veins; stamens in a semi-circle around style,
filaments white, anthers completely yellow; style sigmoid,
white, the stigma slightly capitate. Fruit blood-red.
Common. Near topotype.
