CJ\ -0% [23] 02642081 Carchi: Tulcán Cantón Parroquia Maldonado; along road to Maldonado and Tul can, along road to Chilma Bajo, 6 km N of turnoff to Chilma Bajo. 00°51132"N 078°02,41W 2148 m Hemiepiphytic; internodes elongate, 5-6.5 cm long, 2 cm diam., dark green and weakly glossy; cataphylls 19 cm long, marcescent, turning brownish and persisting semi-intact; petioles terete, medium green and semiglossy, 44 cm long, medium green, weakly glossy; blades subcoriaceous, semiglossy, moderately bicolorous; midrib narrowly rounded and paler above and below; primary lateral veins narrowly raised and paler above, bluntly acute and paler below; tertiary veins moderately obscure; collective veins arising from the primary lateral veins; inflorescences pendent; peduncle 40 cm long, 6 mm diam.; spadix essentially sessile, 32-36 cm long, 1.7-2.4 cm diam.; tepals brownish; pistils green, weakly protruding. 20 October 2012 Thomas B.
