Viguiera stenoloba Blake
PRESIDIO CO.: shrub to 2 m tall; disks and rays orange-
yellow; rare in somewhat weedy herbaceous vegetation on
valley flat heavily utilized by cattle in past, between slopes
underlain by tuffaceous sandstone and conglomerate of the
Tascotal Formation, just north of HQ and bams ca. 1.9
airmiles E to ESE of St. Rt. 169 bridge over Alamito Creek
just N of Plata, at N29°52.405’, W103°59.470\ Kennedy
Ranch (Dixon Water Foundation). Puerto Potrillo
Quadrangle. Elev. ca 3900 ft.
Associates included Acacia constricta, Amaranthus palmeri, Boerhavia
sp., Bouteloua barbata, B. curtipendula, Chloris sp., Cucurbita
foetidissima, Eragrostis cilianensis, E. lehmanniana, Flourensia cemua,
Laennicia coulteri, Larrea tridentata, Opuntia leptocaulis, Prosopis
glandulosa, Tidestroemia lanuginosa, Verbascum thapsus, Verbesina
encelioides.
